Liberty in Our Lifetime? - part 2 of a 2 part post
June 27th, 2008THE REGION, Ind. - Yesterday in part 1 of this post was my opinion on where we are as a nation and how it came to be that we had been sold such a bill of goods in the first place. Today I offer up a possible solution to how we might begin the extremely hard work of restoring our Republic back onto the “path of a more perfect union”.
My motivation to work towards a solution is two-fold. For one, as a parent, it is quite obvious we are enslaving our posterity and each future generation into the monolithic chains of unprecedented amounts of debt. A debt which is OUR responsibility, not our children’s or grandchilden’s. We diminish their worth when we allow the aristocrats to borrow monies in addition to our taxes from foreign nations en mass. Only for them to wage their imperial wars and to support their lavish lifestyles. The time is now and we must not shirk our responsibility in solving this crisis.
Secondly, anyone who pays attention can see the illegal curtailing of our inherent natural rights from a government who for too long has forgotten their proper role as servant. This government failed on September 11th, 2001 to successfully discharge their first and most important duty as a government. That being to keep us secure from outside invasion. This government’s utter failure is thanks in large part to a 110 year foreign policy of nation-building via assassinations beginning in 1895 with the overthrow of the Hawaiian Queen, to the 1953 overthrow of democratically elected Iranian Prime Minister Mosaddeq via our CIA in “Operation AJAX” and continuing through to Iraq. In all, during the last 110 years, our government has “spread its version of democracy” around the globe toppling 13 governments to date.
Not only have they mortgaged ours and our children’s future, but this government has repeatedly antagonized sovereign foreign governments. Thus leaving us open to the retaliation by those affected by our imperialist ambitions. It should also be noted this is in direct opposition to the founder’s vision of American foreign policy. They knew all to well how countless wars had ravaged and destabilized the “old world”. It seems we have forgotten this extremely important lesson.
Make no mistake, the struggle to return America to its Constitutional bearing will not be easy. However, nothing in life worth its merit ever came easy. Moreover, if not now, when? Shall we wait until more of our rights have evaporated? Shall we wait until China cashes out early on their $700 Billion dollars+ in treasury bonds and sends our economy in to a complete collapse? Or shall we take the first steps in a long and arduous journey?
A journey that may very well outlast me, however to do nothing will not put us one step closer to recovery. Perhaps the fruits of the struggle will not be harvested until our Grandchildren are grown. Nonetheless, returning the sunshine of liberty to the people of our nation is in my estimation worth all the difficult toiling that does indeed lie ahead.
We were entrusted with the greatest experiment in individual liberty the world has ever known. Let us be the generation to restore its shining brilliance, not the gadget obsessed culture who allowed it to be extinguished.
The Possible Solution for your Consideration…
